Reinstatement of License in Colorado
Getting your license reinstated will depend on the reasons your license was taken from you. In some cases, you will have to wait out your suspension period, but in other cases, you can rectify the past mistake you made.
For the purpose of driving without insurance, on your first offense, your license will only be suspended until you obtain proof of insurance. You will experience a hearing at the DMV, and you may have to pay a fee for reinstating your license.
In the case of DUIs, in many cases, you will need to apply for a new license to get back on the road. Your license will only be approved by the court if they have reason to believe you will practice safe driving. In other cases, if the first-time offender agrees to install an interlock system into their vehicle, which consists of a breathalyzer, they may be granted reinstatement of a license.
At South Denver Law, attorney Thomas A. Ramunda Jr can provide you with professional legal assistance to reinstate your drivers license.
